Located in Central America it is the only nation in Central America with a British colonial heritage.

The first local Post office open 1809. The Post office became under British post office control in 1844 and the stamps of Great Britain were used for overseas mail from 1858.

The colonial authorities took control of the postal services in 1860 with the first Stamps being issued on 1st Dec 1865.

These can be mint never hinged (MNH), mounted mint, mint hinged or mint with no gum.

These are stamps that have never been postally used
