Here you will find a fine selection of Canadian stamps issued for use in mainland Canada

The British established a military postal system that handled letters between Quebec and Montreal, and from Montreal to Albany, New York. The peace treaty of 1763 inaugurated the development of a civilian post.

In 1840 a uniform postal rate was adopted from the British and in 1849 the use of prepaid postage was adopted in Canada.
