Grenada is a sovereign island nation that comprises the Island of Grenada and the southern Grenadines in the southeastern Caribbean Sea. Grenada is located north of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, and south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

A Packet Agency was in operation at St George`s, the capitol around 1847. Stamps of Great Brtain were used from 1858 until the Crown Colony took control of the Postal service on 1st May1860.

First Stamps issued on 3rd June 1861 using the distinctive "Chalon" head design.
