Seychelles is an archipelago nation of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean

From 1810 to 1903 Seychelles was administered as a dependancy of Mauritius. They issued their own stamps from April 1890 onwards

On 11 December 1861 the first post office was opened at Victoria on Mahé where the stamps of Mauritius were used until 1890 when the Seychelles issued their first stamps
