Basutoland is a landlocked country entirely surrounded by South Africa,
The first post office opened 1872. The first stamps of Basutoland were definitive stamps issued in 1933 and were a set of ten stamps all of the same design depicting King George V and the Nile Crocodile against a background of mountains.
Cape of Good Hope Stamps were used in Basutoland from 1880 and then from 1910 they used stamps from South Africa until 1933 when they issued their own stamps>
